March Flash (Updated 3/29/99) The LaGuaira Shootout came to an end yesterday and...WHAT A FINALE!!! 40 BOATS CAUGHT 256 BLUE MARLIN IN 3 DAYS!!
Old Flash Reports are now maintained on a several separate pages. We don't want to deny anyone a chance to have their "15 minutes of fame", but this was getting out of control! See the links below to check out the earlier Flash Reports.
Well, the crew of the "Courtesan" did it again! Capt. Dave Noling won the IGFA Atlantic Ocean Captain of the Year Award for the third year in a row! He placed 1st in the Blue Marlin division, 2nd in the White Marlin and Sailfish divisions. Many thanks to his mates, Cesar Peinate, Luis "Speedy" Mata, Alberto Sanchez and to all of our 1998 anglers for making this great accomplishment possible (again!). Congratulations, Dave (and crew)!
The "Courtesan" was at it again on the 21st of January and raised 25 billfish, had 20 bites and ended up releasing 8 whites & a blue! Not a bad "practice" day to gear up for the upcoming season! The "Bud Man", "Sharky's Revenge", "Gotcha", "Amante", "Cool Runnings" and the "Anna Lee III" have had their share of "battles" as well. They've all been seeing & releasing a good number of blues, whites and sails. Venezuela just continues to prove what a fantastic fishery it really is. The "Bud Man" was the only boat able to get up early New Years day and try their luck. They ended up releasing 4 blue marlin! I think the "Budweiser Teaser" must have had a little something to do with their luck that day! No comment from the crew. They still think it's a big secret!
We still have a few days available this Spring for bookings but they're going fast. It's predicted to be quite a "fishy" one. Get your calendars out, pick your days & let's go fishing!
